Pearl Rope Tuned PVC Ashiko In #683 Artisan Sunset Cypress Finish

Pearl’s Rope Tuned PVC Ashiko is constructed using PVC for its light and durable characteristics and also for its warm, round, full body sound. The origin of Ashiko drums can be traced back to West Africa and the Yoruba tribe. The Ashiko is a close relative to the djembe and its sound is complementary to the djembe when played together in drum circles or ensembles. The long tapered cylinder of the Ashiko produces lower bass notes than djembes, with rich mid tones. The 1-piece PVC shell features 21 tuning points and a 10″ tucked collar synthetic head. Standing 23.5″ tall the shell is finished in #683 Artisan Sunset Cypress and includes a rubber bottom edge protector.
